It should be an exciting time at the Saxton Liberty Elementary Track June 27-28th. The Station Striders, a Relay for Life team from the Saxton Station Pharmacy, has initiated a huge project to help the community to gear up for The American Cancer Society's signature event. They have purple t-shirts for sale that will have a picture of a record and"Relay for Life 2008" as a crest on the front and a jukebox with "Rock'n& Roll'n for Cure" on the back. The project encompasses all the businesses in Saxton so that everyone working on Fridays from Memorial Day until the Relay will be wearing their purple shirts. Everyone is invited to participate by ordering a shirt for $10 at any of the participating businesses through the end of April and then wearing the shirt to work, to school, while running errands or just cleaning the house through the month of June.In addition, the Rebel Rousers have a large purple bows for sale at the Station Pharmacy for $3.50 so that your house, your fence or your mailbox can be "painted purple" as well.SAXTON SESQUICENTENNIAL SOUVENIRSSaxton-Liberty Sesquicentennial souvenirs still available at the following Saxton businesses: McCahan's Pharmacy, Bowsers Drug Store & White and Jenkins Insurance and Eichelberger & Son and The Coffee Shop. Admission is donation only. Proceeds to the American Cancer Society.June 14th: Benefit Ride & Pig Roast for Jessia Zeigler, burn victim. Will be held at the Shade Gap Picnic grounds. Registration is from 8-11:30am with rides leaving at Noon sharp. $20. per bike. Do not need bike to attend and donations welcomed. 100% of proceeds go directly to Jessica.
